Vice President, Chief Development Officer
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or higher preferred.
- At least ten years of progressively increasing fundraising leadership experience in a large, complex academic environment, healthcare organization or other distinguished setting.
- Experience in public higher education preferred.
- Specific experience in managing and leading major multi-year, multi-purpose comprehensive gift campaigns.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Possess a track record of developing and implementing a strategic multi-year fundraising plan with key metrics and goals for all staff that are tracked.
- Develop a sense of community and collaboration within the development office and across the clinical, academic and research enterprises.
- Model successful cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and coaching and mentoring others as they develop those skills.
- Bring current best practices to bear on key development areas such as major gifts, planned giving, annual fundraising, and campaigns.
- Effective leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in preparing operating budgets, capital campaign goals budgets and systems for internal operations.
