Pharmacy Technician Supervisor - Purchasing and Inventory, Galveston
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of pharmacy technician experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) National Certification; required to maintain PTCB active status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Human Resource Certification
- Project Management Certification
- Lean/6 Sigma Certification
- Medication Safety Certification
- Financial Management Certification
- Supply Chain Management / Procurement Certification
JOB DESCRIPTION
Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the assigned pharmacy areas, including pharmacy business, purchasing and inventory control, human resources, medication safety and operations
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Purchasing and Inventory Control:
- Supervises drug purchasing and inventory functions and related personnel, including:
- Pharmacy Technician Specialist-Buyer
- Purchases approximately 60 million dollars in pharmaceuticals
- Purchases and inventory drugs according 340B rules
- Purchases drugs and supplies at GPO contract prices
- Purchases approximately 60 million dollars in pharmaceuticals
- Pharmacy Technologist-Storeroom
- Receives approximately 60 million dollars in pharmaceutical purchases
- Stocks pharmaceuticals in related automation or static shelving
- Maintain inventory in 340B accumulator
- Receives approximately 60 million dollars in pharmaceutical purchases
- Pharmacy Technician Specialist-Buyer
- Manage pharmacy central distribution
- 340B operational optimization
WORK SCHEDULE
Primarily Monday - Friday Days. Must be willing to work other shifts as needed for emergencies and urgent staffing issues.
