REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
- Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Graduate of a medical assistant program in an institution accredited by a Regional Accrediting Commission or by a national accrediting organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Graduate of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
Or
- Employed in the profession of medical assisting for a minimum of five (5) years, no more than two (2) years of which may have been as an instructor in a postsecondary medical assistant program.
And
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must obtain certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistants (RMA) through American Medical Technologist (AMT) within 12 months of employment.
Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
