Imaging Technologist I or II, Multi-Modal CT & X-Ray (League City Campus, M-F Evenings)

IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST I
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months Experience in the Primary Imaging Modality
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Certification from one of the following credentialing organizations:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - (ARRT)(R),
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS),
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RVT-VT),
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) through the Texas Medical Board, if applicable.
- Registry in a second modality must be completed within 18 months of hire or transfer date.
- American Heart Association BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree - Strongly Preferred
- Three - six months experience in the Secondary Imaging Modality
- Experience and/or Registry in Computed Tomography (CT)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Multi-modality Technologist I provides quality imaging and patient care within two (2) medical imaging modalities in any combination of which MRI, CT, Mammography, or X-ray are the primary modality. Performs imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a clinic or hospital setting as requested by the ordering physician or other licensed provider. The procedures are performed under general supervision of a Radiologist for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. The Multi-modality Technologist I must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are competent in the procedure being performed. In addition, the Multi-modality Technologist I will be able to provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist. The Multi-modality Technologist I will meet all of the qualifications and requirements for the modalities in which they are certified and will work a minimum of 40% of the time in the second modality. The position may require flex shifts and support at different UTMB Campuses.
