EHR Clinical Solutions Specialist - ITS-Clin Ambulatory
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven years of related experience.
Must possess considerable educational background and/or experience to conduct clinical applications analysis and/or programming of complex systems, analysis of clinical workflows, creation and implementation of solutions, and knowledge of system adoption strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a clinically related field preferred; however, years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Current certifications in any of the following: Epic MyChart, Epic Ambulatory, Epic Cadence
Build experience and current certifications in: Epic MyChart, Epic Ambulatory, Epic Cadence
Project management experience
Knowledge and experience in implementing and supporting healthcare applications.
Clinical informatics experience.
Experience with documenting workflows utilizing Microsoft Visio.
Experience working with web design and web servers.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing hardware and software technical support and creating solutions for a multi-system, multi-platform, networked clinical computing environment. May also be responsible for formulating and designing specifications for intermediate to highly complex software and programming applications or modifies/maintains existing applications. Investigates, identifies, and implements appropriate solutions for clinical information systems to support new and existing initiatives to enhance patient care, increase operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsible for acquiring an understanding of the assigned system applications, functions, and features that end-users would experience. Participates in and leads workforce groups to identify and employ technical and application initiatives for best practice and enhanced healthcare operations in alignment with UTMB’s mission. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of clinical applications programming.

Job Duties:
Extensive subject matter expertise, technical knowledge, and analytical skills in the MyChart application.
Extensive experience in documenting business processes, work planning, problem resolution, requirements, and technical analysis, software design, software testing, and end-user training, and a general understanding of project lifecycle management.
Ability to review current practices, workflows, and research new technology solutions to develop an EHR to meet customers’ needs.
Ability to manage multiple activities and projects simultaneously.
Participates in and coordinates all phases of total system planning specifications for facility requirements.
Responsible for applications, including the operating systems, network integration, sophisticated routines, file maintenance, and advanced software packages.
Responsible for clinical systems disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning, and the coordination of testing of the plans within the associated infrastructure.
The clinical solutions specialist will be expected to serve as a liaison between technical and business communities and must be able to communicate complex situations quickly and clearly to people with a variety of technical skills.
The clinical solutions specialist will serve as a role model to junior, senior, and lead-level clinical application analysts.
Performs related duties as required and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to provide advanced support and resolutions of complex or escalated issues.
Ability to manage a wide range of projects, large and small, along with a high volume of service requests.
Ability to work independently and in a workgroup.
Ability to create and/or maintain all clinical systems documentation, to include solutions as appropriate, to enable ongoing support of clinical systems.
Ability to prepare a presentation and present to an audience comprised of varying levels of leadership.
Demonstrate strong organizational and analytical skills
Demonstrate effective oral and written communications and follow-up skills, and strong interpersonal relationship skills.
Salary Range:
Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
Remote position, requires a Texas resident. 8 am to 5 pm, and as needed on occasion.
