Coordinator II, Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health (Onsite)

Associate's degree or equivalent; 3 years related experience.

Job Duties:
The Coordinator II will coordinate resources through interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Coordinator II will serve as an educator and clinical resource for patients and their families.
- Undergo 2 weeks of training at UTMB & complete required internal certification.
- Travel to assigned clinic; may include travel to clinics in Galveston, Clear Lake, Houston and surrounding areas.
- Confirm patient vaccination status (with patient family, ImmTrac, EMR, etc.), determine eligibility, and obtain informed consent.
- Counsel patients about the importance and safety of the HPV vaccination (weekend and holidays may be included).
- Determine eligibility for the federal Vaccines for Children Program and Medicaid; instruct families on this benefit.
- Collect contact information for patient and close acquaintances who can reach them.
- Administer vaccinations safely and properly as assigned.
- Accurately document/communicate interventions and measurements in patient clinic record .
- Check clinic records to update contact information as needed.
- Collaborate with UTMB and non-UTMB (county or school) clinics to coordinate vaccination appointments to ensure completion of the vaccine series.
- Set up phone and text reminders for the patient/patient family in their preferred language for all appointments.
- Build Hospital Account Record (HAR) for every follow up appointment, checking Medicaid eligibility and insurance status.
- Schedule/reschedule vaccination appointments as needed.
- Personally call patient/patient family to reschedule appointments; send letters when patients cannot be reached.
- Maintain accurate records of all patients approached and number of vaccines received.
- Collect high-quality data using patient enrollment forms and EMR systems. Accurately enter and validate data in an electronic database using all data collected at UTMB, and from ImmTrac, and update on a daily basis.
- Work with clinic personnel to display materials on HPV vaccination in the waiting rooms.
- Monitor CDC information to make sure patient education materials are current.
- Attend weekly team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- Seeking an individual with strong Spanish and English-speaking skills.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
