Systems Analyst II
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and five years related experience.
- Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, CompTIA Data+, or other relevant certifications
We are seeking a solutions-oriented Systems Analyst II to support the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department by providing intermediate analysis and documentation of existing administrative and technical procedures, and recommending improvements to enhance workflow, maximize productivity, and control costs. This position plays a key role in managing and troubleshooting departmental data systems, integrating platforms for efficient data collection, and generating analytics dashboards that inform decision-making and monitor EHS performance and outcomes.
Job Summary:
To provide intermediate analysis and documentation of existing hospital and administrative procedures and recommend alternative procedures for improvement of work flow, either manual or automated, maximizing productivity and controlling costs.
Job Duties:
- Plans the study of current departmental systems.
- Gathers and organizes information on the system including present operating procedures.
- Analyzes data and considers all available solutions, either manual or automated.
- Organizes and documents study and prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems.
- Conducts operational effectiveness reviews.
- Conducts preliminary survey of vendor solutions to support departmental technology needs.
- Manages and troubleshoots departmental IT and data systems, including but not limited to EHS Assistant, ATG, and AMP.
- Connects and integrates data systems to enable advanced data analysis and reporting.
- Develops interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI to monitor departmental functions and outcomes.
- Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and key effort indicators (KEIs) for the department.
- Oversees and maintains the UTMB Environmental Health & Safety and Environment of Care websites.
- Collaborates with EHS leadership and staff to produce the annual departmental report.
- Coordinates with BOF administrative support and IT teams to ensure department access to required hardware and software resources.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Equipment:
- Standard office equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, SQL-based databases (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL), PowerBi, Tableau
- Experience with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, and VBA/macros) and SharePoint
- Experience with Adobe Professional and Adobe InDesign

Actual salary commensurate with experience.

Eligible for unescorted access to category 1 and category 2 quantities of radioactive material based upon Trustworthiness and Reliability determination (25 TAC §289.252/10 CFR Part 37).
