Student Research Assistant, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree related to physical therapy, rehabilitation science, or health science
Job Duties:
- Learn and master basic laboratory techniques taught in a classroom-setting or in a research laboratory to gain proficiency for performing laboratory or computational research
- Works with research faculty to define a research plan and project and carries out research on defined project(s); Reports results of the research in written and verbal reports
- Performs research work which may comprise of laboratory work or computational/data-based work under the direction of responsible faculty
- Attends scheduled meetings with mentoring team members including graduate students and postdoctoral members
- Literature and database research as needed for the research
- Adheres to all policies and regulations of UTMB
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
- Performs related duties as required to fulfill personal academic requirements
Preferred Work Experience:
- Experience conducting experiments, collecting data, or assisting in academic research projects.
- Experience summarizing academic articles, preparing reports, or contributing to research papers
- Assisting with scheduling, organizing research materials, or managing timelines for academic projects
- Knowledge of specialized equipment, software, or methodologies relevant to the research field
Preferred Skills/Competency:
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
