Sr. Research Development Specialist, Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Women's Health (CIRWH)
Min Qualifications:
Requires terminal degree (PhD or MD) or equivalent and five years’ demonstrated success in the field. Must possess written and verbal communications expertise, demonstrated leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills.
Specific Job Related Duties
- Provides analytical, technical and professional support in writing funding proposals, including working with faculty on development of hypotheses, aims, and objectives.
- Analyzes funding sponsor guidelines and requests for proposals for eligibility, format and content requirements.
- Provides content expertise to faculty for research grant and manuscript development, including literature searches, literature analyses and synthesis.
- Researches and writes sections of research proposals and manuscripts.
- Reviews proposals for completeness and adherence to guidelines.
- Acts as a liaison between the center/department, and university administrative department(s), for activities related to proposal development and submission.
- Analyzes and drafts responses to reviewer critiques received on grant proposals and manuscripts.
- Coordinates the development of manuscripts for publication and ensure they meet the intended purpose and desired level of quality.
- Analyzes author guidelines for manuscript submission to professional journals.
- Develops list of references using appropriate software.
- Advises authors regarding clarity, consistency, adherence to funding, agency, and organization guidelines.
- Drafts and edits slide and poster presentations.
- Develops informational and promotional materials, such as brochures.
- Gathers information for and writes progress reports for federally and locally funded projects.
- Oversees faculty compliance with sponsor requirements such as NIH Public Access.
- Develop content for the Center’s social media accounts and their partners.
- May supervise the work of others including analyzing workload, determining work priority, assigning duties and overseeing work progress.
- Develops and maintains content for websites.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Salary Range
Commensurate with experience.
Preferred Skill/ Competency
- Must possess written and verbal communications expertise, demonstrated leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills.
- Standard office equipment. Specialized software programs may be required.
- Experience preferred with End Note, PowerPoint, Excel, Advanced Word, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
Preferred Work Experience
Terminal degree (PhD) and five years’ demonstrated success in the field or master’s degree and 7 years’ demonstrated success in the field.
