Senior Financial Analyst - ASG III
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent in related field. Four years related experience in a financial or related field.

- Microsoft Access
- Hyperion – Oracle BI; including reporting, planning, excel add-in, Lightning and smart view.
Job Summary:
To perform complex financial analysis and to provide supervisory guidance in a fiscal group of the Medical Branch.
Job Duties:
- Creates and develops specialized reports utilizing clinical and financial data resulting in business plans, operational and/or programmatic reviews and profitability analysis.
- Performs cost and profit analysis; identifies weak fiscal financial performance; recommends financial solutions and recommends corrective action plans.
- Develops a system to improve the financial position of the departments in ASG III by capturing money on the ground.
- Participates in fiscal activities including budget planning, analysis, and entry.
- Monitors and reviews income and expenses related to E&G, MSRDP, Other Designated, Restricted, and Agency fund groups to ensure compliance with budgets, policies, and procedures, and donative instruments.
- Monitors actual clinical and financial data to measure performance against budget and performs variance analysis to identify and explain any differences.
- Responsible for monthly variance analysis and explanation process and financial reconciliation of departmental accounts.
- Approves non-PO vouchers, requisitions, and expense reports ensuring appropriateness of expenditures and compliance with current UTMB Policies and Procedures.
- Prepares comparative analysis reports and statements reflecting variations in expenditures and revenues.
- Assists the Administrator and Assistant Administrator in establishing and attaining goals and objectives.
- Collaborates with other UTMB departments to resolve issues and/or concerns as well as providing and receiving information.
- Monitors trends and performance and identifies profitability improvements.
- Prepares projections for new hires, replacement positions, and new programs.
- Supports/manages other duties and projects as assigned by Administrator and Assistant Administrator.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs other duties as required.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
