Job Summary/Description: As a Team Leader, the employee will provide supervisory, administrative and communication support to staff assigned.
Job Duties:
• The Team Leader is expected to function as a member of the team with regard to routine assignments while also performing special assignments and other duties as requested.
• Possesses ability to perform any task within team.
• The Team Leaders is responsible for acting as a resource for information to all team members as well as inquires form other areas.
• Responsible for escalating issues related to process improvements or other issues.
• Assists supervisor with reporting and testing, including productivity reporting and system testing.
• Meets or exceeds QA and Productivity requirements
• Quality Assurance should be conducted on a routine basis with feedback and documentation given to the supervisor.
• Based on QA of new employees, makes a recommendation to supervisor as to when new employee is ready to work independently.
• Provide training to new team members as well as refresher training to existing team members as necessary.
• Assists supervisor with the development of policies and procedures, including team procedure manual.
• On occasion the Team Leader will be required to attend meetings either with or on behalf of the supervisor. It is expected the Team Leader would represent the department professionally, participate in discussion and be well prepared regarding the topic.
• In the event of the supervisor’s absence, the Team Leader may be asked to provide supervisory support.
• Special assignments as requested.
• Represents the department and the University in a professional manner at all times. This will involve detailed and professional verbal and written communication with physicians, patients, administration and other management personnel, in a timely manner.
• Interacts with UTMB administration when questions or issues arise.
• Practices effective time management and always demonstrates acceptable productivity and meets department account accuracy standards.
• Successfully completes departmental training courses and annual refresher courses.
• Strict compliance with regard to written policies and procedures for UTMB as well as RCM and adherence to all required standards and deadlines.
• Authorizes physician charges and approves journal vouchers within specified limits.
Salary Range: Actual salary commensurate with experience or range if discussed and approved by hiring authority.
