Psychologist (NASA, BHP)- Preventive Medicine and Population Health
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program. Other areas of Applied Psychology may be considered depending upon qualifications.
- 3-5 years of post-degree/post-training job experience.
- Licensed, or license eligible, in psychology in Texas
- Experience in identifying, addressing and intervening in personal, family, environmental, and organizational issues that may detract from mission success.
- Experience in at least two of the following areas:
- The selection, training, and operational support of high-performing personnel
- Development and/or implementation of family support programs for deployed personnel
- Training curriculum development and/or delivery to high-performing personnel
- Design and/or implementation of personal/team coaching for performance enhancement
- Possess a broad understanding of behavioral health and performance outcomes for individuals to function effectively in extreme or dynamic operational environments.
- Proficiency with software tools including MS Office, SPSS or R.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate/coordinate across multiple scientific or operational disciplines.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences, including various levels of management, internationals, scientists, medical professionals and engineers.
- Skilled at diplomacy/relationship building.
- Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and professionalism in working with others in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Ability to complete tasks independently or as part of a team to the meet the NASA customer's standards with minimal direction
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in high tempo, high risk operational environments (e.g. military, spaceflight or other mission-critical organizations or settings).
- Possess a broad understanding of behavioral health and performance countermeasures and outcomes for individuals and teams required to function effectively in an isolated, confined environment.
- Experience in evaluating and supporting high-performing individuals in high-risk jobs, as well as assessing applicants for such positions through tests, interviews and behavioral scenarios.
- Experience with sleep and fatigue management in sustained operations.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data (both qualitative & quantitative) and the use of statistical methods for the development of data-driven solutions to operational problems.
