Psychologist, Aerospace Medicine (NASA)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• PhD or PsyD in Clinical, Counseling or Applied Psychology (3-5 years of post-degree job experience).
• Licensed or license eligible in psychology in Texas.
• Experience in identifying, addressing and intervening in personal, family, environmental, and organizational issues.
• Experience in at least two of the following areas:
• The selection, training, and operational support of high-performing personnel.
• Development and/or implementation of family support programs for deployed personnel.
• Training curriculum development and/or delivery to high-performing personnel.
• Design and/or implementation of personal/team coaching for performance enhancement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in high tempo, high risk operational environments (e.g. military, spaceflight or other mission-critical organizations or settings).
• Possess a broad understanding of behavioral health and performance countermeasures and outcomes for individuals and teams required to function effectively in an isolated, confined environment.
• Experience in evaluating and supporting high-performing individuals in high-risk jobs, as well as assessing applicants for such positions through tests, interviews and behavioral scenarios.
• Experience with sleep and fatigue management in sustained operations.
• Experience communicating effectively with varied audiences, including various levels of management, internationals, scientists, medical professionals and engineers.
• Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness and professionalism in working with others in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing environments.
• Experience in analyzing and interpreting data (both qualitative & quantitative).
