Patient Care Technician II - Recovery Room
To provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas and serve as a leader/ mentor for the assigned unit (s).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
High school or equivalent, one year of hospital experience AND completion of one of the following technical programs:
- Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program OR
- Completion of Medical Corpsman program OR
- Completion of EMT program OR
- Is enrolled in a recognized School of Nursing and has completed the first semester of education which contains clinical concepts and health assessment or the equivalent
- Has obtained and provided documentation of completion of 2 or more of the following:
- Emergency Dispatch
- POCT test site manager
- Cross-training to HUC duties
- Patient Care Assistant trainer
- Perform Unit Audits- 1 per month per unit/ department manager
- Cast placement
- Perform/ Assist with High-Level Disinfection
- Set up of delivery tables
- Set-up and assistance with minor operating procedures
- Set-up and assistance with area specific diagnostic procedures
- Language assistance
- Burn tub room duties which includes splint applications: mouth spreaders, upper and lower extremities, positioning patients prone, application of pressure wrapping: coban ace wraps, surginet pressure garments, tubigrip/jobst garments, burn dressing preparation and application and assists in application of biobrane/transcyte
- INQN, IDERAD, PACS system resource/user
