Oracle PL/SQL Programmer - Software Systems Specialist III (Remote, SE Texas) - CMC IT
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and three years related experience.
Job Summary:
To provide the technical skills and expertise required in developing and maintaining computer operating system software of the most complex nature.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience and proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL programming: Packages & Stored Procedures.
- Experience in creating and utilizing other Oracle Objects, such as Triggers, Indexes, and Views.
Job Duties:
The Server Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of our servers, which are essential for the smooth operation of our organization's IT systems.
- Application back-end development, including triggers, stored procedures, functions, packages, etc.
- Interface development (usually HL7) and maintenance.
- Data extraction used by reporting platform (Crystal Reports).
- Works with Development Team to brainstorm solutions to specific problems.
- Attends Development Team meetings where new ideas and problems are discussed.
- Provides technical guidance to team members.
- Supports the Help Desk in researching issues related to the EMR.
- Works with PEARL EMR programmers on table design, query optimization.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Capable of writing and optimizing complex queries, such as sub-queries, nested queries, aggregate and analytic functions.
- Ability to quickly and demonstrate proficiency in new software tools.
- Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document work and communicate progress to others.
- Ability to function with moderate supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be detailed and accurate.
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Unix shell programming, familiarity with AIX, korn shell, cron, and Perl.
- Ability to work with interface structures (flat files, csv) and knowledge of FTP.
