Network Support Specialist II (On-Site) - Rebecca Sealy
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent in related field and two years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with various small-sized to medium-sized area networks (i.e., LAN's, WAN's).
Job Summary:
To provide hardware/software support and the technical skills required to administer, design, modify and maintain a network configuration at the department/school level.
Job Duties:
- Manages the performance of four to five software packages from fairly simple to complex levels of sophistication.
- Provides training and support of these packages to staff, faculty and management.
- Provides programming skills of basic to moderate complexity, utilizing established languages.
- Consults with vendors, faculty, staff, and management concerning projected enhancements to hardware/software and networking capabilities.
- Oversees or assists in the physical set-up of communication connections.
- Performs basic to moderately complex problem determination of reports and resolution, identifying problems at the school/department level.
- Assists management/supervisor with the development of reports and procedures to optimize the benefits of network capabilities.
- Provides staff, faculty and management with training and assistance in the utilization of various software products (i.e., spreadsheets, data bases, word processing, and statistical packages.)
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Programming of Cisco network equipment.
