LIS Systems Analyst III (Hybrid)
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide advanced level analysis of institutional activities, interdepartmental relationships, workflows, procedure, and existing technology; and recommend ways to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance revenue and effectiveness of overall operations through automated solutions.
This position supports Clinical Laboratory Services
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and four years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Blood Bank environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Blood Bank Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Experience implementing new systems
- Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Experience updating and maintaining websites
- Experience running reports
MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS:
- Coordinates product evaluations by consulting with departments to identify current procedures, and by prioritizing system requirements.
- Evaluates vendor solutions.
- Prepares cost/benefit analysis.
- Coordinates written recommendation of solutions.
- Develops operational and functional models.
- Acts as liaison with data processing personnel during analysis, design, and implementation of automated systems.
- Evaluates, compares, forecasts, and develops proposals for change based upon current and near future technologies.
- Maintains industry and professional organizational standards.
- Adheres to internal controls established for department.
- Performs related duties as required.
