REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Satisfactory completion of a formal vascular technology training program (1-4 years) must be registry eligible with application for current year OR
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program (2-4 years) with 1 full additional year of full-time clinical experience in a dedicated vascular lab and registry eligible with application for current year OR
  • Approximately two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences with two years of experience in a dedicated vascular laboratory and registry eligible with application for current year
  • Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Two (2) years of recent Ultrasound Technician experience
  • Current BLS certification obtained through American Heart Association 

 

Compensation:

Hiring Range: $40.00

 

EQUIPMENT:

 

  • Ultrasound equipment and other laboratory equipment commonly used in a non-invasive laboratory. Standard office equipment

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment is in a comfortable indoor area.
  • Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort
  • Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required such as walking, performing CPR, standing, and lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
  • Frequent lifting may be heavy and awkward, over 50 lbs.
  • Vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch must be adequate to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as reading small print, reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, sending and receiving clear and accurate oral communication.
  • May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, radiation, chemotherapeutic agents, and disoriented or combative patients.
  • Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory input.
  • Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury.
  • May work extended shifts as necessary to complete job objectives.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, utilize hand/ finger dexterity, and type on a computer keyboard.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include regularly working on a Visual Display Terminal (VDT), close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Includes

intermittent physical activity such as bending, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
