Min Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and no experience or High School or equivalent and 2 years customer service and/or clerical experience. Job Description: The Patient Services Specialist I creates a positive patient experience by consistently exceeding expectations in customer service and patient care, by coordinating clerical and medical activities of a healthcare team, patient registration activities, and facilitating access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.
Important information -
*Work location may vary between UTMB campuses and clinics, candidate may be asked to float to any location based on needs (including both the Clear Lake and League City campuses).
**Work Hours may include any combination of the following shifts. Interested candidates need to be prepared to work any of these shifts, and be available to work least 40 hours per week.
7am-4pm
7am-7pm
8am-5pm
9am-9pm
11am-7pm
***BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification through American Heart Association is required prior to hire. Proof of the following immunizations are required as well:
- 2-Step TB skin test (2 negative skin test results within a 12-month period); one-time blood draw, or Chest XRay w/ TB questionnaire;
- Varicella (chickenpox) – VZV Titer, Vaccination (Varivax), or VZV Declination;
- MMR Booster(s) or documentation of the following:
- Rubella Titer/Vaccination
- Mumps Titer/Vaccination
- Measles Titer/Vaccination
- Hepatitis B Vaccination (one of the following)
- HepB titer
- Documentation of series
- Other vaccination - TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis); expires and has to be renewed every 10 years.
- Other vaccination – Flu or signed declination; if declined, then employee must wear mask the duration of Flu season. Required yearly.
