REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 

  • RN with current license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.
  • Two (2) years of inpatient hospital experience as an IR, critical care, Cath/EP, or ICU RN within the last 2 years
  • Must have current BLS and ACLS required obtained through American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Cardiovascular certification such as CVRN II or higher, CCRN, RCIS, RCES preferred

 

Equipment:

  • Able to use equipment and related supplies for a selected patient population.
  • Able to use related computer equipment

 

Work Environments:

  • On call duty is required and unpredictable work hours may be required to complete the procedure
  • Travel to additional satellite procedure location
  • Routine exposure to radiation is necessary
  • Wearing lead apron that weights approximately 20 lbs. all day and other radiation protective device as needed
  • Work in a high stress environment
  • Work environment is in a comfortable indoor area.
  • Conditions such as noise, odors, cramped workspace and/or fumes could sometimes cause discomfort.
  • Moderate to extreme physical effort may be required, such as walking, standing, performing CPR, and lifting materials, equipment, objects, and/or patients.
  • Occasional lifting may be very heavy and awkward, over 50 lbs.
  • Vision, hearing, talking, and sense of touch abilities must be adequate to enable one to perform tasks quickly and accurately such as reading small print, reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, sending, and receiving clear and accurate oral communication.
  • Frequent periods of concentrated or focused attention will be needed to interpret visual, auditory, and sensory inputs.
  • Minimum to work and stay active is 2 weekend shifts per month.
  • Alertness and careful attention to detail will be required to avoid injury.
  • May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, ionizing & non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients or others.
