HCSS Graphics Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphics/Print Production Artist to join our team. As the graphics/production specialist, you will be responsible for creating and preparing computer generated artwork for print production; vinyl and/or full-color graphics that can be applied or printed and mounted to a substrate.
Duties:
· Collaborate with clients and design members to create print-ready artwork for various projects.
· Create and modify layouts, ensuring proper placement of text, images, and graphics.
· Prepare files for print production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
· Administer color management processes to ensure accurate reproduction of artwork.
· Prepare large format print jobs for production, including file preparation, color management, and layout adjustments as needed.
· Operate large format printers, laminators, and cutters to produce high-quality graphics.
· Create computer-generated vinyl and/or full-color graphics output that can be weeded, cut, and applied or printed and mounted to a substrate.
· Performs other duties as needed, such as answering the phone, helping with front desk duties, consulting with customers, etc.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
· Strong knowledge of layout design principles and graphic design techniques
· Strong understanding of color management, file preparation, and printing techniques for digital output and large format signage
· Experience in digital print production processes.
· Ability to interpret job specifications and work orders accurately, adjusting settings and parameters for optimal print results.
· Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions.
· Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- 3+ years working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications – specifically Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Knowledge/experience in graphic design, typography, and color theory principles is a plus
- Wide format printer experience (Epson Eco-Solvent) a plus
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of Onyx
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 65 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, illustration, or a related field, or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related graphic design experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered
for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
