Grants Administrator, Internal Medicine
Min Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five years related experience in research financial management
Specific Job Related Duties:
- Help the research community identify opportunities for funding.
- Works closely with research community in assisting them with the compilation and submission of a competitive grant application.
- Prepare budgets based on sponsor’s guidelines.
- Communicate and facilitate proposal submissions with potential subcontracts.
- Reviews completed applications and contracts for accuracy, completeness and compliance with the requirements of the University and the prospective funding agency.
- Monitors the Time and Effort reports submitted and notifies PI and Administrator of any potential conflicts.
- Reviews and makes recommendations on proposed budget changes in order to determine whether such changes are permissible under the terms of the grants or contracts.
- Adheres to internal controls for department.
- Performs related duties as required

Preferred Skills:
- Possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively work and interact with individuals at various levels of the organization, with a focus on service orientation
- Experience with DataMart/Access reporting, PeopleSoft HCM and/or PeopleSoft FMS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
- Knowledgeable in the various types of funding mechanisms
- Familiar with various Grant and Contract submission portals
