Federal Work Study Student, Old Red Medical Museum
Minimum Qualifications:
UTMB Student at least half time, any school/education program
Job Description: This position will be an on-campus position.
Job Duties:
· Undertaking a general (visual/written) survey of UTMB’s medical heritage collections.
· Make recommendations for improving the organization of the collections (e.g. numbering, labelling and their physical organization).
· Triage/label artifacts in need of conservation.
· Undertake temporary/remedial conservation (training and materials available).
· Undertake supervised collections-based research.
· Oversee the transfer of the collections data (text/images) from MS Excel to Past Perfect (museum software) utilizing training materials.
· Support museum-related activities.
· Performs other duties as required.
EQUIPMENT: Standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work performed in a standard laboratory environment with exposure to conservation chemicals and equipment.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
