Executive Director, Billing Compliance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and 10 years' management experience in a healthcare related field. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in healthcare coding, billing, and third party reimbursement required.
At least one of the following certifications (or other equivalent certification):
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Management (RHIT) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MD, DO, Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or RN. Master’s Degree.
- Experience in auditing, professional, technical, and inpatient facility coding and billing.
- Experience in delivering metrics, outcomes, and meaningful reports involving billing, coding, and documentation issues.
- Physician education and building partnerships throughout the UT System enterprise.
- Certification in Health Care Compliance (CHC) through the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- It is critical to have in depth experience with professional, outpatient facility and inpatient facility coding, from a coding, billing and compliance perspective.
- Exceptional written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem solving, and presentational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and in a team environment.
- Continuous daily self-education to stay abreast of the regulatory changes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), TMHP, and other payors.
- Responsible for being current and knowledgeable of billing, coding, documentation guidelines.
- Knowledgeable in EMRs (EPIC preferrable) and auditing software solutions (MD Audit and ComplyTrack preferrable).
- Ability to create and monitor metrics, trend issues, create dashboards, and produce relevant reports for leadership, physicians, department chairs, and other parties is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
