Enterprise Analytics Manager (Information Service) - Business Intelligence (Galveston)

Job Description:

Assists information services leadership team in managing major functions within the project, customer support, or operations group of information services.

The Manager, Enterprise Analytics:

The Manager, Enterprise Analytics drives the execution of analytics strategy through the discovery, development, and implementation of leading-edge analytics that make important business decisions. The manager aligns talent and resources to support enterprise needs by leveraging data to achieve strategic objectives and make strategic decisions. The manager will work closely with all business areas: Clinical, Research, Finance, HR and Correctional Managed Care.

The Manager, Healthcare Analytics Duties:

• Lead the planning and execution of enterprise-wide analytics projects and strategic initiatives, translating business goals into actionable solutions
• Manage development efforts as a liaison with business and technical partners, including managing stakeholder expectations, requirements gathering, testing, deployment and user adoption
• Manage the entire Epic Cogito Suite, lead upgrades, ensure downstream impacts on reporting and analytics are mitigated and acts as the liaison between the Epic teams and the Business Intelligence and Data Administration department
• Lead efforts in data mining and analytics in support of BI efforts and projects for the organization; continually look for opportunities to diversify and draw from multiple disparate data sources, both structured and unstructured
• Prioritize team work, manage customer expectations and relationships, and maintain alignment of deliverables with business needs and strategic objectives
• Lead a team of business intelligence developers, Epic report writers and Epic Clarity ETL Administrators.
• Support customer engagement and satisfaction by maintaining effective communication and transparency of work and deliverables with core stakeholders
• Partner cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners
• Independently engage with business leaders to understand business needs
• Leverage enterprise analytics tools like Qlik, Power BI, Epic Radar Dashboards to rapidly deliver data-driven insights and recommendations
• Have a good understanding of ETL processes and development and healthcare data modeling
• Facilitate cross-team project collaboration between ETL developers, Data Modelers, Business Intelligence Developers and Project Manager.
• Mentor, manage, and ensure the continuous development of a high functioning team.
• Assist with contract negotiations
• Assist with budget development
• Complete all necessary administrative tasks on time
• Stay up to date on healthcare analytics trends and continually looks for improvement and modernization opportunities
• Build and foster a positive working culture for team

Key Skills:

• Complex SQL Development
• Development skills within the Epic Cogito Suite
• Understanding of the Epic Clarity Data Structure.
• Strong development skills in BI tools like Qlik or PowerBI
• Enterprise Data Warehouse Architecting
• Innovative thinker, positive attitude
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment

Highly Preferred

• 7 + years combined experience in healthcare business data management, business intelligence or IT consulting
• 5 + years of experience in healthcare business intelligence, data modeling/data management, data warehouse/data mart
• Proven knowledge and experience in working with Epic EMR. Strong understanding of the Epic Cogito Suite.
• Top performer and role model in delivering exceptional client service in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge with query, extract, transformation and load (ETL) from common database platforms (SQL Server/Oracle) required
• Proven success in IT project management ; experience managing IT projects across full systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Must be able to motivate and lead team from the strategic decision making down to the project planning levels
• Successful track record of defining requirements, developing system design and architecture, system configuration, testing and deployment
• Experience with Enterprise Data Warehousing principles

Preferred:

• Knowledge of basic statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques including basic data modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis preferred.
• Knowledge of R, Python, Hadoop preferred.
• Demonstration of healthcare business intelligence thought leadership a plus (white papers/articles, speaking experience.
