Director, Operations - Infection Control & Healthcare Epidemiology
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Public Health or a Master’s of Science degree with a major focus on biostatistics and epidemiology.
- Board Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology.
- Seven years of related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ten years of related experience in a university hospital or a large healthcare system with experience managing people or programs.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of:
- The principles and practices of employee development to train, delegate and mentor staff.
- The principles of finance and budgeting to develop and manage the budget
- Skill in:
- Anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations.
- Identifying problems, and researching and identifying effective resolution.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to:
- Plan, prioritize, organize and direct the work of others.
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Work closely with the Department Director (physician) to maintain high standards of technical competence.
- Lead, develop, manage, and motivate the employee group
- Effectively manage departmental resources, and accomplish goals.
- Analyze and evaluate data and make appropriate decisions often requiring rapid response.
