Director, Interprofessional Education & Quality Enhancement Plan
Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Interprofessional Education and the Health Education Center, the Director for Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) will oversee and provide leadership for the ongoing development and implementation of the UTMB institution wide inter-professional education initiative. The Director for Interprofessional Education and Quality Enhancement Plan will also serve as the administrator for the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee the interprofessional activities and events to meet learning objectives and program goals.
- Develop and refine a repository of interprofessional activities for consideration of inclusion in the UTMB Interprofessional Education Core Curriculum.
- Direct scholarly interprofessional education activities.
- Collaborate with faculty across the institution and external community members to assist with the development and implementation of interprofessional activities.
- Provide oversight for the Interprofessional Education Scholars Program and annual Interprofessional Education Symposium.
- Implement placement of students in interprofessional practice environments.
- Serve on the Health Education Center leadership committees.
- Chair the Quality Enhancement Plan Steering Committee and serve as a liaison to other university committees and groups with related interests.
- Assure proper management and accountability of the Interprofessional Education and Quality Enhancement Plan budget and all resources.
- Assure adequate funding and resources for Interprofessional Education and the Quality Enhancement Plan.
- Working with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) , prepare regular reports on the progress and outcomes of the Quality Enhancement Plan for internal review and to meet the requirements of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, UTMB’s recognized regional accrediting body.
- Working with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, assure the dissemination of the findings and outcomes of the Quality Enhancement Plan through scholarly publications and attendance and presentations at professional organizational meetings.
- Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
- Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is required and two years of related experience.
- A record of professional activity and demonstrated leadership is necessary.
- Excellent communication and team skills, an understanding of and ability to work with multiple professional groups is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in education or a health-related profession and four years’ experience in academic administration is desired.
- Experience promoting Interprofessional Education
- Experience in an educational setting for health care professions
Salary:
Starting salary will likely range from $97,000-$116,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
