Director, Business Intelligence & Data Administration
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced technical skills in data design and architecture and related tools.
- Must be able to effectively communicate at all organizational levels, understand the institution’s business, mission areas and goals, and translate them to information technology initiatives.
- Adept and comfortable working with academic leaders, researchers, clinicians, and finance leaders.
- Ability to teach and mentor other team members and peers.
- Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations that convey technical information in a manner that is comfortable for non-technical recipients.
- Knowledge of health care analytics, as well as medical, research, and statistical terminology.
- Must be decisive, flexible and results oriented with the ability and desire to achieve goals quickly.
- Ability to deliver and thrive in a changing environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in computer science, healthcare administration or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience working in a directly related area of information technology, preferably in an academic medical center or dynamic and complex healthcare organization.
- Minimum of 4 years of directly leading and managing teams.
- Extensive expertise and/or demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools (i.e. Oracle, Microsoft); designing, reporting and delivering analytical solutions; data management and warehousing, and the strategic use of information.
- Experience in the implementation of a cloud strategy for data architecture using Azure tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Managed Instance, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Analysis Services.
- Knowledge and experience in transitioning legacy data warehouses, data marts, and other data repositories to a cloud-based data analytics platform.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, MHA, or equivalent related advanced degree
