MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree or equivalent; 3 years related experience.

SPECIFIC JOB RELATED DUTIES:

  • Work with students, faculty and staff in the School of Medicine and in an academic health-science center, coordinating course activities related to students in Years 3 and 4 courses.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Serve as a liaison between and provide assistance to students and teaching faculty.
    • Coordinate and provide support for courses in Years 2 through 4 as assigned, most specifically with Assessment and Concept Integration (ACI)
    • Ensure specified course goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with Office of Clinical Education (OCE)  policies and procedures.
    • Maintain, update and revise course website(s) in Blackboard.
    • Arrange and manage scheduling and room reservations.
    • Arrange and attend course committee meetings, staff meetings and training sessions.
    • Coordinate course lab activities as assigned.
    • Create/edit/produce/publish educational and assessment materials.
    • Proctoring SOM exams.
    • Create Gradebook templates, prepare and confirm score calculations, post course scores and final grades.
    • Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA guidelines.
    • Access, enter course and validate student grades via MyStar system.
    • Assist faculty with customized exams editing, implementation and management.
    • Maintain organized filing system (both digital and paper files) including required pre- and post-course checklists.  Prepare files annually for records retention following appropriate guidelines.
    • Support overall function of the OCE & staff, with other duties as assigned.
    • This cross-functional position supports multiple functions of the OCE & staff with other duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.

PREFERRED SKILL/COMPETENCY:

  • Incumbent should be competent in MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook E-mail, Microsoft Web Expression (or other web development software); experience with Blackboard, Gradebook and Access.
  • Prefer applicant with medical terminology experience and spelling aptitude.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in an organized and detail-oriented manner.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer applicant with 3 years of experience coordinating academic or educational programs.
