Clinical Research Fellow - Bioethics & Health Humanities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in clinical ethics consultations, including collection of information, ethical analyses, follow-up with health care team, and documentation
- Round regularly with Ethics faculty and members of the multidisciplinary care team in the inpatient units, e.g. Physicians, Nurses, Administration,
- Social Work, Pastoral Care, Care Management
- Attend meetings of the Institutional Ethics Committee
- Complete at least one research project, resulting in a manuscript of publishable quality submitted to an appropriate journal
- Participate in bioethics conferences, workshops, seminars, and/or lectures locally, nationally, and internationally
- Participate in policy development
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have a PhD, JD, or MD with preference given to candidates with doctorates in bioethics, philosophy, theology, nursing, behavioral sciences, social sciences, medicine, or law.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates should have strong communication skills, experience working with diverse teams, and be able to work both collaboratively and independently to achieve goals. Familiarity with patient care in a hospital setting is preferred.
