Clinical Education Specialist, Office of Clinical Education
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field and three years of related experience; or Associate’s degree and five or more years of coordination experience.
SPECIFIC JOB RELATED DUTIES:
- Manage Blackboard sites for specific clinical-year courses managed by Office of Clinical Education, including posting syllabus and course materials
- Coordinate daily activities for courses including room reservations/virtual meeting links, keeping attendance, answering student questions, sending announcements and reminders, tracking and/or crediting completed assignments, communicating with course directors and faculty or community lecturers.
- Create schedules for courses and update students of any changes. Manage student Discussion Board questions
- Communicate with Enrollment Services, track enrollment, and submit grades for coordinated courses
- Proctor exams as needed
- Education of community faculty and coordinators regarding elective requirements and communication about deadlines.
- Travel to preceptor offices to meet preceptors in person and relay the needs of UTMB 3rd and 4th year courses
- Provide other departmental administrative support as directed
SALARY RANGE:
Commensurate with experience.

Preferred Work Experience:
- Basic proficiency and recent work experience in database applications and software systems. Working knowledge of MS Access (data entry, create reports, create queries). Knowledge of Excel and other UTMB systems such as Tivoli, MyStar, New Innovations, Peerceptive.
- Superior communication skills, multitasking skills, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to speak clearly and concisely when relaying the needs of UTMB to potential preceptors.
- Interpersonal communication skills sufficient to work with a broad range of professionals in legal, healthcare and education arenas.
- Website maintenance and design a plus, but not required.
- Must have valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle for traveling to preceptor offices in surrounding areas and east Texas/Tyler.
- Experience as a coordinator in an educational setting.
- Experience communicating effectively and efficiently in a deadline driven professional setting.
