Associate Medical Director - Center for Polar Medical Operations (16 hrs/wk; Hybrid)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical college or school is required.
- Current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency certification (DEA).
- Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), ATLS and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Must be board certified in Emergency Medicine, Aerospace Medicine, or Family Medicine (other specialties may be considered) and continue to maintain board certification during tenure in this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical degree and a Master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business or finance, or other relevant field.
- Prior experience in hospital administration and 5 years in physician leadership role(s).
- Prior quality improvement experience as evidenced by certifications (Physician Leadership Academy, Clinical Safety & Effectiveness Course) or Quality Improvement project methodology.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position working 16 hours per week. The primary work location will be on the UTMB Galveston campus with the opportunity for some remote work once established in the role. Travel to Antarctica as needed is required.
