MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD in a relevant field, and 6 years’ experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and 8 years’ experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Service-based research advancement and/or project management experience for biological sciences. Experience involving infectious diseases research or clinical trials is preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of research administration principles and practices
  • Knowledge of research project management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of various funding agency requirements and preferences
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment
  • Ability to efficiently use social media to communicate Center goals and accomplishments
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Skill in program planning and implementation
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Ability to maintain CBEID web site content
