Assistant Professor - Nutrition Science and Health Behavior
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach graduate level nutrition courses in a combined MS/DI program.
- Mentor graduate students.
- Serve on department and school committees.
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments of patients/clients using evidence-based methodologies, develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans and provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for various medical conditions.
- Monitor patient/client progress and modify nutrition interventions as needed, and document all nutrition interventions according to professional standards and healthcare facility requirements.
- Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
- MS or MPH in Nutritional Sciences or closely related field.
- Experience precepting dietetic interns.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Doctorate degree in nutrition or any health-related field.
- Collaboration with dietetics education programs including teaching experience.
Work Experience:
- At least five years full-time clinical work experience post RDN credentialing.
- Clinical work in an academic health science center or similar institution.
Skills/Competency:
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
