ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research (97%): This position’s responsibilities will include 1) continuing development of a research program focused on metabolic dysfunction in malnutrition (obesity and undernutrition) and infectious diseases; 2) continuing to publish original research papers; 3) developing productive interactions with investigators within the ID Division and larger UTMB research community, particularly those working in the area of metabolic function; and 4) obtain independent extramural research funding by end of year 3 of the K01.  
Administrative (3%): This position will fulfill the administrative requirements that are standard for the Assistant Professor position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD degree or equivalent, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease.  
  • Must have completed an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency.

Commensurate with experience
