Assistant Professor - Bioethics and Health Humanities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach and mentor graduate and medical students, and students of other health professions, including interprofessional education.
- Provide medical humanities and ethics education for faculty and staff.
- Engage in and publish original research, including results from collaborative activities.
Support the Institutional Ethics Program by:
- Providing clinical ethics consultations.
- Rounding and acting as a consultant on ethical issues in the intensive care unit and other patient care areas as necessary.
- Contributing to programmatic development of the consultation service.
- Participating as an active member of institutional committees such as the Institutional Ethics Committee, and other committees as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD, JD, or MD with research and teaching interests in the medical humanities and/or bioethics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate should have experience in an academic health center and a record of both scholarly publication and graduate-level teaching.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
