Assistant / Associate / Professor of Clinical Practice - Abdominal & Body Imaging Radiologist
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The UTMB Department of Radiology invites applications from fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible abdominal/body imaging radiologists to join our growing academic faculty. This is a rare opportunity to practice at a high-volume, technologically advanced academic medical center while contributing meaningfully to resident and fellow education, research, and the clinical mission of one of Texas's most distinguished institutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
UTMB Radiology is a vibrant, collegial academic practice operating across four hospital campuses in the Houston-Galveston corridor, including our flagship John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, a Level I trauma center, and community hospitals in League City and Clear Lake. Our abdominal/body imaging section works with state-of-the-art technology including 1.5T and 3.0T MRI, multidetector CT, and photon-counting CT.
Our department trains 8 diagnostic radiology residents per year and hosts multiple subspecialty fellowship programs, giving faculty meaningful daily opportunities for case-based teaching, mentorship, and educational engagement. Faculty benefit from close collaboration with subspecialty colleagues across a true academic medical center, with the depth of institutional infrastructure including research support, GME infrastructure, and administrative resources — that a standalone community practice cannot offer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO degree.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology.
- Fellowship training in abdominal/body imaging.
- Valid Texas Medical License, or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Eligibility for appointment to the UTMB medical staff.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
